Vision and Mission

VISION

To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

MISSION

To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

VALUES

Our relationships will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.

INTEGRITY • We will demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, privately and publicly. (Proverbs 11:3)

SERVING • We will model Jesus’ example of serving. (John 13:1-17)

TEAMWORK • We will express our unity in Christ in all our relationships.(Philippians 2:1-4)

EXCELLENCE • We will honor and glorify God in all we do. (Colossians 3:23-24)

STRATEGY

To and Through the Coach

We pursue our vision and mission through the strategy of to and through the coach. We seek ministry first to coaches hearts, marriages and families. Then, when ready, we minister through coaches to their fellow coaches, teams and athlete leaders.

Billy Graham said, “A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” With the influence of a coach, FCA recognizes the most strategic way to reach more athletes is to first reach the coach.

METHODS

As FCA matures, we seek to make disciples through our methods of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

ENGAGE • (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

We engage relationally by connecting with individuals and through events in many different environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives and sharing the gospel. We strive

to connect with coaches and athletes where they are on their spiritual journey.

EQUIP • (Ephesians 4:12)

After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to equip them with Christ-centered training, events, resources and on-going support in what it means to be a follower of Christ, growing

in God’s Word and applying it to life.

EMPOWER • (2 Timothy 2:2)

Once equipped, we empower faithful leaders who desire to use their time, talents and treasures to help other coaches and athletes experience the gospel, grow in their faith and share Him with others. We desire to develop disciples who make disciples, assisting them so that they can in turn engage, equip and empower others to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

A word from our Area Director

Friends and supporters of FCA in North Central WI:

We are starting a new year for FCA ministry. We have goals to grow the ministry and its impact.

We have been realigning the area called North Central Wisconsin into four smaller areas. The goal is to have each area staffed with 3-4 persons. Until that happens Russ, Brent and I are trying to cover the area.

Russ in charge of Eastern Marathon and Western Shawano counties. This includes the school districts of: Wausau, DC Everest, Mosinee, Marathon, Shawano, Bowler, Witt-Birn, Tigerton, and Gresham.

Brent will oversee Taylor, Clark, Wood and Western Marathon counties which includes the school districts of: Medford, Rib Lake, Gilman, Abbotsford, Owen-Withee, Thorp, Colby, Stratford, Spencer, Loyal, Greenwood, Neillsville, Granton, Marshfield, Auburndale, Pittsville, Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa, and Port Edwards.

We are in the process of hiring other staff persons for the other counties in our area which includes Portage, Waupaca, and Waushara counties in the southeast and a northern tier of counties—Lincoln, Langlade, Oneida, Forest, Iron, Vilas, Price, Florence and portions of Ashland and Marinette. We even go into UP Michigan to help with FCA coverage.

What this means is that we are currently short of staff, but we have 3-4 persons in the FCA hiring process to bring on staff in the next 6-12 months. This will give us better coverage to reach more coaches and athletes with the Good News of Christ, to be a disciple-making ministry going deeper on more school campuses and into community sports.

This also means my job will include three basic duties—recruiting, training, maintaining staff, funding development, and board leadership development.

This also means we are looking for more funding support. More Home Team support, monthly automatic donors, church missions support, business sponsorships, estate giving, or any other financial support to invest in this growing ministry. We have a ministry plan that involves reaching every coach and every student athlete in every sport in every school and community sport. This will require much prayer and funding. All prayers and donations are welcome as we bring more people on staff.

In conclusion this is a brief summary of our new break down.
