The Ryder Cup Competition will consist of a field of 24 golfers, making up two 12 man teams. Our hope is that you will find your own partner or if you cannot find a partner we will pair you up with a partner for the day. You and your partner will play 3-9 hole matches against another two man team from the opposing team. The first match will be a 9 hole 2 Man Scramble, followed by a 9 hole Alternate Shot and finally a 9 hole 2 Man Best Ball. We will begin with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. After each round we will meet at the proshop to report our scores to the golf pro and see where we stand. Food will be available compliments of FCA at each break and beverages throughout the day. We will end with a brief program to give out awards and announce the champions.

You are going to have a great time participating in this event! We’re committed to providing a great day of fun and competitive golf, as well as complimentary food, prizes, and more. We also are very excited to have a venue like The Legend at Merrill Hills, site of the 2009 Wisconsin State Amateur Championship. While you’re having fun and competing, you’ll be making a tremendous difference in the lives of athletes and coaches and all whom they influence.

The monies raised will support the Southeast Wisconsin Fellowship of Christian Athletes and help us achieve our goals of:

  • Penetrating local schools both public and private with our campus ministry.
  • Using the vehicle of sports to reach athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, to help them make good decisions and develop a growing relationship with Christ.
  • Send as many kids as possible to sport and leadership camps.

Fundraising Goal

Each golfer will be asked to do two things:

  1. Commit to sponsor yourself for a minimum of $100.
  2. Commit to put forth a good faith effort to reach the per player goal of $1,000 - $2,000.

What Strategies are used to raise the funds?

  1. You can simply choose to donate the $1,000-$2,000 yourself.
  2. You can use the attached flyer to ask others to sponsor you. Email, handout or mail to family, friends and business contacts.
  3. Call people and ask them if they would consider sponsoring you in this fundraising event. Then log their name, address and pledge amount on your log sheet.

Then bring whatever checks you have received and your log sheet on September 13th to Merrill Hills and FCA will take care of collecting your pledges.
