FCA Leadership Camp Builds Up Faith and Leadership Skills
My first experience with FCA Leadership Camp was nothing short of spectacular. There were 8 of us from Northeast WI that attended. Five athletes, two coaches, and myself.
The time was filled with team building, athletic challenges, chapel, and break outs. 125 kids between the ages of 15 and 18 learned a ton about FCA and what a huddle is all about. There were 35 huddle leaders, between the ages of 18 and 25 that helped guide the kids throughout the weekend. The 15 or so staff people helped out where they could, but also observed the activities. Of course there was food. That never hurts and the food at The University of Northwestern St Paul was delicious and abundant.
For me personally, it was a time of inspection. I wanted to see first-hand what this was all about. I had heard positive things, but until you actually experience it, it is hard to wrap your arms around. 2018 will be a year of promoting and sending. I can’t wait to share my experience with the high school kids throughout Northeast WI and encourage them to attend. It is time well spent.
Building up your personal faith, learning leadership skills, some advanced “huddle” learning, and the overall experience is done so well at the Minnesota camp that I can’t imagine not sending our kids from WI over there.
Well done Minnesota staff and a huge thank you to Randy Jensen, Area Director for South Metro Minnesota.
